The process of digital radiography, or also known as digital X-rays, is: a sensor which is inserted in your mouth by your dentist which captures the images of your teeth. Although the process is similar to conventional dental X-rays, the digital x-ray has the sensor electronically connected to a computer so once the image is taken your dentist can view it on a screen. Digital X-rays are better for patients because they eliminate the use of chemicals in the dental office, it is a faster process, the computer allows dentist to enlarge, lighten, or darken the image for the best view, and also problem areas are diagnosed faster so problems can be fixed earlier before getting worse.
